The Quiet Woman Gets a Face Lift
August 18, 2009 by tcrisler · Leave a Comment
Fans of Corona del Mar’s Quiet Woman restaurant are now enjoying the complete interior makeover that was unveiled this month. There is a new patio dining area in the previously underused back entrance, and the lunch menu has added a few delectable new items. The Quiet Woman is a longtime landmark in CDM village, and proprietress Lynne Campbell has done a great job of making it a warm welcoming environment for the fine dining crowd and those looking for a place to meet up for a cocktail or a glass of wine.
Speaking of wine, Quiet Woman has an award-winning wine list, with a large selection of fine wines by the glass that you aren’t going to see on every other wine list in town. The prices are reasonable, and Lynne has the forethought to age some of her best wines so that they are sold when they are showing their best characteristics. If you want to experiment with new varietals or just expand your wine repertoire, the QW’s staff are knowledgeable and give great advice.
The Quiet Woman is located at 3224 E. Coast Hwy, Corona del Mar, adjacent to Newport Beach. For more information call (949) 640-7440 or visit www.quietwoman.com.
Cheers!

Every year Newport Beach welcomes the Toshiba Classic, which is for professional golfers aged 50 and over. Many of the legends of the golf world have played this tournament in the past, including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Gary McCord, Tom Kite, Fuzzy Zoeller, Gary Player and more.
One of the most successful tournaments in Champions Tour history, the Toshiba Classic has raised over $11 million in the past 11 years for Hoag Memorial Hospital as well as other Orange County charities. It’s also always been a great stimulator for our local economy, and if you are planning on dining out in Fashion Island or Corona del Mar this week, I recommend making a reservation.
For more information on the 2009 Toshiba Classic, visit the official website at www.toshibaclassic.com including the schedule of events, ticket information, parking, history, and charity’s involved.

It’s Friday, October 31st…so Happy Halloween! I love this time of year, it’s just starting to cool off…although Tuesday was a scorcher. It’s getting darker earlier, and as I’ve been driving around our Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar neighborhoods, I’ve seen the creativity that homeowners have used to spice up their homes for the holidays. Decorating is not just for Christmas anymore.
Here are some of the other pictures I took this week…
